Introducing Telemntl, an integrative mental health practice in Florida.
Now accepting new patients via telehealth.
Hi, I’m Rosa K. Tousent, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC.
I help adolescents, adults, students, and young professionals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD to improve school or work performance, find a renewed sense of energy, feel more confident, improve relationships, create a more fulfilling school or work life balance, and feel an overall sense of inner peace and satisfaction. I do this by partnering with my patients to develop a treatment plan that integrates medication management, supplements/nutraceuticals, therapy, lab testing, and other modalities.
My other specialties include supporting families and caregivers of those suffering from chronic illness or dementia, and immigrants coping with acculturation issues and the complex emotions these circumstances can cause. Using my integrative approach, I help caregivers feel more confident in their decisions and in the quality of care they provide, and I help patients facing immigration-related stressors feel happier and more at peace with their acculturation process.
I’m a holistic provider who trained in medicine in the Dominican Republic and later completed nursing and psychiatric training in the United States, a path that taught me to consider the full picture, listen closely, translate complex medical information into practical steps, and design treatments for full body health that fit real lives. Decades working in emergency and crisis settings, combined with personal experience caring for family members with chronic illness and dementia, shaped my commitment to practical, compassionate care.
My unique approach to Psychiatry
I believe knowledge is power – I believe in educating patients about their mental health issues because the more a person knows about their problem or illness, the easier it becomes to confront and overcome their symptoms.
I believe all people are unique – which is why I provide personalized treatment plans and a holistic approach to treatment, treating the whole person, not just their symptoms.
I believe in working collaboratively so we can create an individualized and patient-centered treatment plan, working towards achieving overall well-being.
I believe in providing holistic and integrative care that may include medication management, therapy, labs, supplements/nutraceuticals, among other modalities that may be clinically indicated.
Do you…?
-
pushing yourself to meet expectations at work, school, or home while quietly battling self-doubt, stress, and the sense that you’re falling behind?
-
struggling with low energy, loss of joy, agitation, or mood swings that make you isolate yourself from others?
-
struggling to focus, finish tasks, or stay motivated no matter how hard you try?
-
losing focus, motivation, and confidence—and feel helpless as anxiety, stress, or emotional ups and downs begin to take their place?
-
constantly worrying about a loved one’s declining health, juggling denial, frustration, and exhaustion while losing sleep, neglecting your own needs, and feeling cut off from friends and support?
-
homesick for familiar people, food, and language, yet trying to adapt to new norms, build friendships, and navigate work or community systems that often feel confusing or unwelcoming?
-
rushed through appointments, handed a prescription, and left without a clear plan that truly fits your life?
If this sounds like you, I offer practical, compassionate care that starts with listening and ends with a personalized plan you understand and can follow. Together, we’ll uncover what’s contributing to your symptoms, choose treatments that fit your goals, and build the skills to help you feel steadier and more capable.
For adults and young professionals, that may mean feeling happier and more fulfilled in work and relationships, gaining confidence, and creating balance between achievement and self-care.
For parents seeking help for their child, it may mean watching them find their spark again—managing emotions, communicating more openly, and feeling successful in school and friendships.
For caregivers, it may mean finding relief from exhaustion, restoring a sense of identity, and rediscovering moments of joy and connection with your loved one.
And for those navigating life between cultures, it may mean feeling at home within yourself—less isolated, more grounded, and confident in your place in the world.
I specialize in working with:
Adults and young professionals struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma-related symptoms
Adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, and ADHD
Family members and caregivers of those suffering from chronic or terminal illness, including dementia and cancer, experiencing depression, anxiety, frustration, and stress
Acculturation and immigration-related stress
Appointments offered in both English & Spanish.

No Mud, No Lotus
Most people are afraid of suffering, but suffering is a kind of mud to help the lotus flower of happiness grow. There can be no lotus flower without the mud.
